Hello! My parents are remodeling their living room and would like a decent sound system for listening to mostly classical and jazz, with a focus on chamber, symphonic, and solo piano music. This forum seems like a good place to ask questions so I'll give it a try.
Here are some pictures of the room as well as a blueprint of it:

a)First, they aren't sure where to place the speakers. Around the chimney seems like the only logical choice, but how far apart and how wide is what we are wondering.
b) What speakers and amplifier would be best to fill this large room, as well as nearby rooms, with sound? It seems like Magnepans are often recommended around here, but would they work with this space?
c)Much of their sound collection is in lossless digital format on a hard drive. What would be a good system to have the music available and controllable through an iPhone app or something like that? There is space in the walls to place a computer, and they also have an extra Dell that they don't use.
Thanks very much in advance.
