I'm considering purchasing a Hi-Res audio player for my Flac collection. Everything is 16/44. I'm relatively new to the world of high end audio and am wondering what the best purchase would be for $150 or less.
Currently considering the Fiio X1 and Fiio X3 second gen from Amazon at $99 and $150 respectfully. Is the X3's sound quality worth the extra cash? And is there another player in this price range that gives better performance and features?
Currently, I have a pair of Sennheiser Urbanite headphones (not the XL model) if that makes any difference for recommendations.
I'm very open to upgrading my headphones in the future for what it's worth.
Been using my phone as a portable player and it just isn't cutting it. The volume isn't good enough and I have to listen to everything maxed. Listening on my laptop is a much better experience than through my phone. So I assume that the Fiio or any other Hi-Res player is going to be way better than my phone.
Any advice would be appreciated.
