OK, after seeing the demos of this product and thinking about it some, I have to come clean and admit that I've drunk the koolaid: I think this device is going to be huge. I also think that it will have profound ramifications for print media. It appears that the New York Times are already on board and several book publishers are also lined up to produce and sell material for this device.

It could very well become the iTunes Music Store for print media: with newspapers in trouble everywhere, this offers a conduit to stay in business with lower costs and offers an ability to deliver higher quality content.

And this being the Stereophile forum, I'm wondering if there has been any consideration given to producing a tablet sized electronic version for subscription? I know I'd buy one. The size, quality and navigation on this device look like a real winner to me.

The other aspect of the thing that has me excited is the option of using it as a front end for a wireless music server. It's a perfect size and has a beautiful touch screen interface. I'm already using an Airport Express to stream my lossless digital files, this just adds a very cool front end that could wind up as easy to use as the Sooloos server for a fraction of the price (I know there's much more to the Sooloos than the interface, but still, a compelling system could be put together using the iPad, a computer in a back room and a quality DAC that will sound amazing and be a delight to use).
