I heard the B&W 707 S2s in a show room and absolutely loved them, but they are pretty pricey ($1500 CAD). A watched and read a few reviews on them and they weren't exactly glowing. One of the reviewers suggested instead getting the Elac Uni-fi UB5s. It seems like there is a lot of hype about these speakers and the price is great, but are they in the same sound quality class as the B&W 707 S2s? I'm not sure I can go back now...
Also, would the Teac AI-301DA-BK Integrated Amplifier be a good match for the Elac Uni-fi UB5s? I'm on a bit of a budget - hoping not to spend more than $800 CAD on an amplifier (not sure if that is realistic, I keep hearing conflicting advice about the importance of the amp).
