Hi,
First an introduction;
I would consider myself as someone who’s new to the audiophile scene. I’ve done some research and I think I found a pair of headphones that matched all of my criteria: The Sennheiser 700 HD. I plan to use these headphones for gaming and more importantly: listening to music.
As gaming is one of my use cases I’ve deemed it necessary for the headphones to have a lot of soundstage for the sake of surround sound and the advantage this could imply for competitive gaming. Moreover, I’ve heard that the 700 HD is very comfortable which will allow extended use without causing strain.
But I’ll also be listening to music on my iPhone (I also have a portable DAC and amp) hence the low impedance of the 700 HD is a huge plus.

If anyone has a different suggestion I’m all ears.

Is it fine to save a bit of cash and get a ex display case or should I purchase a new one?
I’ll be using the headphones quite regularly, taking it with me and plugging it into an and iPhone (with an amp) so it’ll be subjected to a lot of wear hence I wouldn’t mind any cosmetical damage. My biggest concern however is that the product won’t have any warranty.

On a side note, my computer has a high-end motherboard; Aorus x299 Gaming 9 which I intend to use the integrated sound chip. I’ve read that the sound components are pretty high end so I suppose I don’t need a sound card or DAC?
