Looking for advice... Just getting back in the hobby after 20+ years. (Dang kids eating up all my "extra" cash!) Right now I'm looking at starting out simple with a receiver, turntable, and some speakers... I still don't really have the cash for what I REALLY want but, I know with some advice from here and some searching I can get some great sound! I've found a guy in my area that has the following items: B&W DM603 S3 (Black Ash) and a Rotel RX-1052 (2003-2007 no pre-out). I would pick up a turntable as well, maybe the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB Direct-Drive... He's selling the pair B&W's for $300.00 and the Rotel for $100.00. There is a catch, the Rotel is not working. He is confident that it's the power supply and that I can send it in to Rotel and have it fixed for under $100.00. I know the seller very well and he will give me a full refund if the repairs are more than he was thinking and I feel it's not worth the cost... Anyone know what the customer service is like with Rotel? Do you think if it is the power supply it would be less than a $100.00 repair? How much is too much to spend on getting it running again? I know, a lot of questions but thanks for your time! The B&W's have been in their original box sitting in his basement for the last 5-6 years but have been checked and are in working order. (I've heard the tweeters can break free if miss-handled but they're intact and working.) Thanks again!
