I was just wondering, why do they have extreme frequency responce on some pres and amps. Say like the Audio Research Reference 3 line preamp(0.2hz - 200khz), when most of the high end speakers take on something like 18hz - 80khz, and on top of it most everyones mics only recrod 20hz - 20khz like a neumann u87 ai or another high end condensor mic. Also like movie guys don't as often use great mics just one good enough to do some filming. So forth and so on, you guys get me. Like I've heard systems close to this they do sound great, but I dont get it, isnt it overkill to do such like that? Can anyone elaborate on why stuff is made like this.
