WHAT I WANT IN A PLAYER
* CD, CDR, DVD, & (stereo) SACD compatible
* Optical & analog output
* Video is unimportant
* Single disc
MY RECEIVER/PLAYER
* TEAC AG-H550 (optical, coaxial & L/R analog inputs)
* Panasonic DVD/CD player, connected optically
PLAYERS I'M CONSIDERING
* Yamaha 657 ($220 $=US) & 1500 ($450)
* Denon 1920 ($300)
COMMENTS & QUESTIONS
* I've never connected my current player to my receiver with anything but an optical cable. With SACDs (and, I assume, up-sampled CDs), however, I'll have to use L/R RCA cables -- would I be better off using this connection for CDs, too? I'd still have to use the optical cable for DVDs (so I could use my center channel speaker).
