One of my friends bought a CD mat and claimed it improved the sound. I am doubtful of this, as how can a mat improve the sound when digital information is read from the laser beam, because it cannot change 0s to 1s and 1s to 0s.
Once the information is read, the mat has no influence anymore.
So, my question is two-fold:
- Do mat actually improve the sound?
- If yes, how do they do that?
You can get very technical, I have an electrical engineering degree, although I work in software engineering. I still have an electronics workshop, for hobby purposes.
