You've become acquainted with The Daily Beast, but do you know
The Daily Audiophile? The two are kind of similar. On the former, you can read about nude New York City dinners, while on the latter, you can read about hi-fi reviews. See what I mean?
I'm always happily surprised when I find audiophile-related sites on the web. I'm not sure how I came across The Daily Audiophile (oh, yeah, I was Googling myself again), but, noting its clean design and friendly voice, I was impressed. So, I asked The Daily Audiophile's founder, Mark Wieman, a few questions.
The site was developed and launched just this past summer. Mark says:
The sheer number of high end reviews and articles has really exploded since I became interested in the hobby ten years ago. I'm an avid reader of most audio web sites and magazines, but even I had a hard time keeping up with them all. I also had trouble using some of the web sites simply because of the way they were designed. I got the sense that other audiophiles were in the same boat as me, so I decided to create Daily Audiophile. My day job is producing web sites, so I figured I'd use my technical knowledge to create a site that I hope is both useful and user-friendly.
Right now, Mark does most of the work himself, but he would like Daily Audiophile to become a collaborative effort. He would also like to increase the number of posts per day from two to about five. The great majority of posts refer to equipment reviews, with a handful going towards show reports and other articles. In the future, Daily Audiophile may also link to select information sourced from online audio forums.
Meanwhile, in our own forum, we have a thread dedicated to "
Favorite Audio Links."
