Hi,
I'm not sure I'm in the right place....so if not maybe I need some directions instead of advice.

My Denon cd player just started clicking badly...so I need to replace it. I bought my system in the late 80's and haven't thought about audio equipment since Stereo Review magazine went under.

We listen to classical, opera and rock. My wife is a violinist, with a better set of hears than me. We have been pleased with our Adcom preamp/amp and the denon dcd cd player through KEF reference speakers.

I can't find any stereo stores in our area to even listen to cd players. They all carry multi disc players and are really set up for home theater rather than music listening.

So what should I look for or consider and where? I'm not even sure what to pay. I think the Denon was around $800 twenty years ago. Are used machines to be considered?

Thanks for any advice and avenues to pursue!
