I have a 80s HK receiver and HK Graphic Equalizer hooked to a HK T-35 turntable with a AT120E moving magnet cartridge. I was unhappy that I had to turn the receiver all of the way up to get reasonable volume. Only when using the turntable, CD input is fine. I added a build it yourself RIAA phono preamp kit. From the table, into the preamp and into the receiver's phono input...too much gain, big distortion. Using the same into a line level input, same low volume problem. Any ideas?
Almost forgot, into a pair of ADS 3 way speakers.
Thanks!
