My current system consists of:
Apple iBook G4
klipsch 2.1 promedia sub
2 MK S85 bookshelf speakers
I am just posting to see what the weakest link in the system is. I've considered getting a seperate reciever or subwoofer, but im not sure what/which. The MK's are hooked up to the stock satelite outs on the back of the sub. I am not sure what the cross-over point from the subs/sats is, but the MK's, retailing for $685 at one point are cleary not the weak link and are able to handle whatever the sub gives them. The MK's enclousure is sealed, and i've considered how much of a difference a ported speaker would make but im not sure. I know that the speaker wire is low quality, so im not sure if it makes sense to upgrade the only upgradable wire(the speaker wire). I've also thought about getting some decent stands for the MK's. As of now, theyre sitting on two plastic bins flanking my computer desk. Just wondering if anyone has any recomendations/comments and what not, thanks, LukeDuke
