Here's a strange question: does anyone else have the habit of falling asleep during listening sessions? I'm not talking about "listening fatigue" here but more like being in such a relaxed state and being so into the music that you fall into a sort of trance and then asleep. I do this all the time and it doesn't seem to matter what genre of music is playing. The other day I fell asleep half way through Cecil Taylor's "Conquistador" CD! If you can sleep through that....It's not that I was bored with the music but just so into it that all other thoughts melted away.
Also the format doesn't matter nor does the system. I've been doing this for years through all kinds of components both tubed and transistor, analog and digital.
It's almost like how they decribe the state that one enters during meditation. A relaxed and peaceful state.
I'm not really complaining about it because in these stressful times it's nice to get to such a tranquil place but I usually have to listen to a new LP/CD a few times to get all the way through it.
Am I strange?
