The past year or so has seen the release of several very fine recordings made up entirely of covers Bob Dylan songs and I have been thinking about starting a thread here in the Rock Music section on just that subject. Joan Baez - Any Day Now
(Vanguard 1968) - originally released as a double LP, this recording is the gold standard of all Dylan cover albums. Her version of "Love Is Just A Four-Letter Word" is about as perfect as a song can be.
Various Artists - I'm Not There - Original Soundtrack
(Columbia/Sony 2007) - this double CD set is not really the original soundtrack since these most of the versions of these songs on this excellent CD are not used in the film (The film uses mostly the Dylan originals), however, that does not mean all that much when listening to this CD. Highlights include, but are not limited to: "Goin' To Acapulco" by Jim James & Calexico (Jim James is the lead singer for My Morning Jacket), "Se
