Boulder 1021 Updated
Posted Fri Jan 8, 2010, 1:23 a.m. ET
Boulder has updated their 1021 disc player, reviewed by John Atkinson last July, adding an ethernet jack on the back and an iPhone app to control multiple streams of content such as a NAS drive on the network or media server. Boulder's Rich Maez says the new player is currently in the debugging stage and should be available near the end of January for $24,000.
Later that morning Salih Niper posted the following reader comment:
What about a red glowing "Emergency" button on the front side panel (on the next version; which would be possibly sold for say 28,000 USD). This button will dial up 911 through Ethernet when you push it desperately (while trying to escape from your attacking wife who learned that you have spent 28,000 USD for a CD player).
