Just getting into hi-fi, infact I got my first pair of speakers friday. The trouble is when I listen to music or watch movies the sound will be too loud one moment or to soft the next. My current setup is:
(Ipad air 2) -> (LP-269FS 4x45W Mini Amplifier via 20ft aux cable) -> (Elac B4 via old 18 to 20 guage speaker cable I found lying around)
Also have plans to get some 12 guage speaker cable and some pin adapters to fit it into my amp as well as a SMSL M3 DAC. Just waiting on a transfer from my savings account.
My room setup is about 16-16 ft with an outcropping making it an L shaped room. Also I watch movies on my ipad and listen to music most often laying in bed. I tried to follow the equalatal triangle guideline. The head of my bed is against the wall and my two speakers are on each side of the foot. Behind the speakers prolly 8- 10 ft of room. Not sure if any of this matters for this particular problem.
I was trying to watch a movie last night on my ipad and I had to adjust the volume via ipad buttons every 10 seconds or so. One second it would be to loud so that it might disturb the others in the house the next so queit I cant understand what they are saying. Anyway I couldnt get into the movie with all the volume adjusting so I gave up and put on my headphone. I don’t have any problem with them so I am guessing its something else in my signal chain. Note: It does this too when I listen to music but about every 30 seconds instead of 10.
What do you think is causing this. Is it an easy fix?
