I've had the same speakers for 18 years! Same turntable about 15 yrs (yes, have changed cartridges on it whenever needed). Same CD player 12 years. (newer DVD player tho, w/ SACD)(and have new CD Recorder). Same amp 10 years at least. Changed my preamp 5-6 years ago when the old one broke.
Somewhat newer gear on my secondary system.
I read stereophile and this forum etc because it's interesting, but I DON'T flip equipment, and don't obsess over the stuff. I'm curious about equipment I read about, but don't actually consider auditioning it, because I won't replace my gear unless it's broken - and the stuff I have still sounds pretty good. I'm careful w/ money and would not raid college savings for mere gear. Am I an audiophile? Probably not..
