Hello,

This is my first message here. As someone could suppose, I am new to "quality" hifi gear and looking for advice.

I want to build a reasonably good system from the ground up but don't know where to start. My budget is $5K for everything but the TT. I’ve got one already – it’s a clearaudio concept with concept MM capsule.

I listen to most types of music, from Jazz to classic and alternative rock, especially english (beatles, who, cure, radiohead, arctic monkeys, etc). Not very often some classical music.

My room: 26m2 with 2,5m ceiling height.

Loking for a system that, in essence, reproduces the sound with extreme fidelity; something that sounds clear, translucent; not very interested in high power, amazing bass frequences and só on…

Found 2 integrated amps:
PEACHTREE NOVA150
NAD C388

Probably i’ll buy the B&W CM6 speakers.

I like the possibility of adding CD music and streaming to this system, só i think they will go well.

My doubts are:

1) The components cited above… do they “marry” well for the listening purpose i’m assuming?

2) The speakers… some people say the CM series is the most refined, wisely cost-effective, for this purpose. Do you agree?

3) Do i need a subwoofer or just the pair of speakers is ok to go?

4) How good is the PHONO pre-amp of those two integrated?

5) How good is the DAC of those two integrated?

6) Do you recommend other amp solution scheme who wuold perform better than those two, but still in my budget range?
