while i know that a recording forum would probably be the best place for this question, I really want to ask the folks on the STP forums first if they have any ideas b/c i know some of you have some experience with this.

my band, Heroes of the Open End, have been buildling/developing a practice studio. we'd like to start recording live as we rehearse and hopefully get some good mixes.

so far we have some treatments on parts of the walls, insulation in the walls, and acoustic curtains on one side

i wish i had a diagram with some dimensions, but i'll do my best to describe w/o a tape measure...

our practice space is approximately 40 feet long and 15 feet wide

we practice in the middle of the room with amps in a broad circle. there is about 15 of open space to the left of our practice area. We practice in the remaining 25 feet, the other side bordered by the acoustic curtains (amp circle is within this 25 foot area)

we use a PA w/monitors

we'd like to start recording rehearsals while also using the PA to hear vocals live

any suggestions on how to make this happen?

we have Adobe Audition, but no preamps, audio in/outs, or any sort of hardware really except for the power amp.
