Hi all,

I have managed to put together a pretty decent system over the past few years but it misses a lot of the qualities that I hear in some (certainly not all) higher-end systems, like dimensionality and air around instruments, and even things like "musicality", if that's such a thing (I'll just define it as a system that just makes me want to keep listening).

Right now I have a Rotel 1072 integrated, 1062 CD player, B&W 685 speakers, and a Rega P5 with a Dynavector 10x5. It's all hooked together with van den hull cables and is running into an FIM wall outlet.

Are there some obvious spots where I could make an improvement for around 1k? A stand alone phono preamp? A different integrated? Different speakers?

I listen in a small room, mostly to Jazz, Old Country, Bluegrass and some Rock. I'd say I listen to 90% vinyl.

Thanks in advance,
Dan
