I'm so old that when Alice Cooper's "School's Out" was released, I was actually in school!
Went to my niece's grad party tonight and some of the kids were playing this song.
I had a moment of cognitive disonance, for sure.
Many of the kids were wearing faux Zep concert tees.
Lots of long hair.
The only thing that was missing was vinyl. (I hope DUP can overlook this historical reference.)
The kids knew all the Stones, Zep, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath classics.
That's the temporal equivalent of me knowing the canon of the 1930's and 40's when I got out of high school.
My ten year old son wears Led Zep T-shirts and plays Zep riffs on his guitar. He's so tall that he is starting to wear my actual concert tees from my teens.
Where's the damn generation gap?
I had a chance to drive around today in my in-law's minivan, and listened to Greg Ginn on XM.
Really. Is that what it is all about, paying 15 bucks a month to be able to listen to the "Fungus" channel on XM in a friggin' minivan?
Isn't that all a little too bourgeois?
Man, this was my second time with the XM...it don't sound so good.
