I need help. My system is a dennon dp 500, through a jolida integrated tube amp, and a set of advent cabinets I stole from my dad. Though it's not the prettiest thing to look at, I love the way it sounds... Fills my house up with great sound. The issue is, I find myself listening to more digital sources.... And less and less to the turntable. I'd say I'm listening to spotify 75% of the time, and podcast (npr, local news, etc) 25% of the time.
Currently, I simply connect my iPhone to the amp via aux to RCA cable.... But, when I listen to the exact same tracks on vinyl and the iPhone.... I notice little things missing. Which makes me think there is maybe a lot i could be missing on all the digital media.
Is there a device, that would provide me with more detailed sound than what I'm doing now? I don't want to connect a pc to my stereo. Also, as I get a little older (I'm 30),
I find myself entertaining company more, I'm hopefully looking to update to a system that doesn't make my house look like a frat house. But I've started up a new business, and don't really want to cut loose of that kinda money right now.
I would expect to continue using apple products for phone and iPad etc for the foreseeable future.
As far as budget goes, I don't have a clue what somthing like this would cost. If it would make a significant improvement I could see myself spending up to 1500 bucks on somthing like this... Though bang for the buck is important. I'm not a hard core hi-fi guy, so I don't know all the products out there... But I seriously enjoy good sound.
