Years ago, some girl gave me Pulse by Pink Floyd, but she somehow switched with another disc at her place or mine or on some trip and I never got a replacement.
15 years go by...
At Zia the other day, there was a used copy, so I figured I may as well make things right (with the CD situation.)
Well, damn.
I played the live DSOM section and that fucker puts up a giant seamless soundstage that has some sort of doodad processing that makes things happen way outside the usual imaging margins and even created the sensation of sounds coming from behind.
They had done a similar show in Oakland a coupe years before this disc came out, and this CD kills it - better than live, except for the lack of chicks wearing only body paint in my listening room.
If you are any bit a Pinkie fan, then this live take will please you. Lots of it is prerecorded, but it gives a great 'concert' feel.
I've been using it to warm up for The Flaming Lips DSOM coming soon!
