Writers tending to be more liberal usually have more intelligent, thoughtful, replies to those with whom they disagree. The same is generally true for political candidates.
How can the GOP claim to care about the average citizen when offering Sara Palin and Dan Quayle as potential Commanders-In-Chief? Consider that Donnald Trump, who has no respect for anybody, sounds like some of our far-right writers.
