So i just bought a condo and already I'm getting complaints from neighbors that my music is too loud. I, of course, completely disagree with that, but to avoid fines I have to do something. So I've been looking into soundproofing options. I discovered a product (actually as an ad on this website) called Silent running (or Liquid Soundblocker) http://www.silentrunning.us/
Does anybody have any experience with this? It seems straightforward and easy, but it also seems a bit too fantastic, and i'd hate to drop $1000 on something that 1)Doesn't work and 2)Messes up my pretty painted walls in the process. Does anybody have any reports?
Beyond that, I'm looking for some general advice on a low- to mid-cost (less than $2000) means of soundproofing someplace that's already built. I live in a two story duplex loft conversion, with hardwood floors and a wooden ceiling. The walls are drywall, although there's some exposed brick at the corners. The walls are 15' high. There's one window, but it's about 15 feet wide and about 10 feet high, but it's right next to the home theatre system (about 5 feet away).
Thanks so much for any help!
