Last night, after a bit of a tough day, listened to Here and Now by Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple. These guys were with the power pop group the dB's, whom I also heartily recommend. Last night I was picking through the softer songs from their 2009 duo. I had forgotten that I had purchased the HDtracks 24/96 version, so boy was I happy to listen!
The guitars had a nice clean attack with all that high frequency material that gets lost so easily, the percussion popped, and their voices sounded so much like they sounded live.
The music is intelligent pop with an acoustic focus. Give it a listen!
