Hello,

I am currently looking for a plate amp that is capable of driving my current powered woofers in my stereo setup. The drivers I have are two of the 15" Flex Unit drivers from Audiotechnology. http://www.audiotechnology.dk/iz.asp?id=4|a|128|||

I am currently driving them with the Hypex DS 8.0's that drive 530 watts into 8 ohms http://www.arton.info/DS80_manual.pdf . The only problem is that I like to listen at very loud volume levels some times and these amps cannot seem to handle anything past half way on the volume knob on my Benchmark DAC3 HGc.

Beyond half volume on really bass heavy tracks the right amp starts clipping making my woofer fart (sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU4aH5gHG3Q ) and the left amp has developed a power on buzz from being driven too hard that doesn't go away until the amp has warmed up. These drivers are killing these amps and I would like to replace them before they do damge to the much more expensive drivers.

Power is not an issue as I have 3 20 amp circuits fed by 10 gauge shielded. I am loking for something that has double the rated power of the RMS of the speakers which is 400 watts rms into 8 ohms.

I am also not adverse to using a normal amp with a passive fourth order low pas filter as I always use 85hz crossover, but would prefer an active crossover that I can control on the fly.
