I found it an interesting, although slightly depressing read. It seems the desire for quality is increasingly becoming a minority issue, whether is be customer service or sound.
I think a large portion of it is lack of education. Most people aren't aware there is such a good thing and good quality and bad quality sound. And if they were made aware of the difference they wouldn't settle for compromise.
