Dear readers, can you help me source an inexpensive filter to place between my solid state preamp and power amp for driving a "sub-woofer"?
I did try searching, assuming this has come up numerous times, but to no avail.
My requirements are modest, as my system isn't what I'd call real High End. The filter can be a cheap passive or slightly more expensive active type which allows frequency and phase adjustments.
My full range Paradigm towers need support only at the lowest end as I don't want to set up boomy standing waves. Would ~100Hz be a reasonable upper cut-off point? The power amp has input level controls and I'm using it in a bridged mono mode for a single sub woofer unit.
Thank you for any help.
