Hey guys,
I'm new to this. I'm in the renovation business and what got me interested in hi-fi audio was when I was asked by my client to set up his system - the Naim Uniti Star and a pair of Burmester B10 speakers.
I have been researching lots about matching an amp to speakers. From websites to youtube, I still can't wrap my head around how these things work, especially for my client's set-up.
The Naim Uniti Star offers 70W per channel in 8 ohms. The Burmester B10 demands 80W and has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. From what I have learned during my research (which proves that I have understood this whole thing wrongly) was that the amp needs to have slightly more watts than what the speaker needs to drive it, and the reverse for ohms where the amp needs to be lower than the speakers'. Yet my client's set-up sounded sweet.
What did i understood wrongly?
