As this was the third time I have recorded the band in this hall, setting up the mikes went quicker than usual. I used a distant pair of high-voltage DPA 4003 omnis mounted either side of a Jecklin baffle, a closer, spaced pair of DPA 4006 omnis, and a central ORTF pair of DPA 4011 cardioids. I can adjuts the apparent distance of the singers in post-production by varying the levels of each pair of mikes in the mix. I also time-align their outputs for center-stage sources.
