Hello all, first time post for me. I need help finding an amp for my system.
Current system
NAD 542 CD
B&W 683
Yamaha R v901 a/v receiver(looking to update to the new 663.
Cadence 12" powered sub
Monster z series bi wire cables
Monster 800 series interconnects
The 683's was my latest purchase, decided to go with something upscale from my old acoustimas system.
A friend of mine has a Bel Canto evo Gen 11 amp, 120W/channel(used) that i could get for $700.
I have it hooked up now, however at higher volumes, seems the amp drops off in clarity.
My receiver does not have enough power to push them either.
So in the $500 to a $1000 range, any recommendations? Would consider used as well.
Ex. Ebay has yamaha mx-1000 for $500 on occasion, 260w/ch.
System is in my basement, room is rectangle, 13 feet wide by 30 deep, carpeted floor with drop ceiling and dry wall.
Any help would be appreciated.
