So basically, a friend of mine has come to me with a question that I don't know the proper answer to because I am pretty new to audio as well and I was hoping I could bounce it off you fine folks.
He has an old turntable that has a phono source that he has a tube preamp hooked to that he was running through an old amp into a set of floor speakers.
Those all got blown up in a storm or some such and now all that is left is the phonograph and preamp.
He has a set of cheap powered bookshelf speakers he wants to use temporarily that only have RCA input on the amped speaker and a regular speaker connection to the slave (NO OUTPUT), and he has a powered sub that only has an RCA input on the sub (NO OUTPUT no high level in).
I am not sure of models at the moment because he couldn't answer me that question but.... is there any way for him to hook that one phonograph w/pre amp source to both powered speaker and sub that only have RCA inputs and no output?
Is the answer just a couple Y splitters from the preamp? Could he get like a monoprice headphone splitter and do it that way with the right adapters?
Lost over here. Thanks in advance for any advice.
