In MF's review of the VTL amp, he mentions not tightening individual screws fully until all are seated. He says:
"A hint: Don't fully tighten any screw until they're all screwed in a bit (footnote 3). Footnote 3: I learned that working on cars, but how many audiophiles have done that? How many Jews, for that matter? I'm probably one of six Jews outside Tel Aviv who's done his own car work and probably one of fewer audiophiles... "

Well, I learned how to use a screwdriver early in life, by working on cars, and home repairs, and wood projects, and light switches, and various electronics - normal stuff. For a couple generations, millions of Americans took "shop" in public schools. I don't think it's "rare" for an audiophile to have worked on a car - at least, not in my slice of the real world. I used to sometimes work together on repairs and maintenance of our personal cars with a friend who is Jewish. So I think Mikey should widen his focus.
