Hey all

Well, I'm stepping into the world of hi-fi, and I'm looking forward to it! We're in the process of an addition/remodel, and part of this work is a recording studio I've built onto the house. This studio will also serve as "the hangout" and "man cave," so I'm wanting to drop a good system in there. The studio will have a full drum kit on one end, most of my amps and guitars, and a full PA system with mixer, etc. It's a fairly smallish room for this (around 15ft x 21ft), but it'll work. I should have an entire wall between windows for hi-fi placement, though the only seating area will be on the wall next to this one -- so no setting up the system to face the seating area.

Having said all that, here's what I was thinking for my system, so far:

AMPS
1. PrimaLuna DiaLogue Seven (which is 2 amps).
2. PrimaLuna DiaLogue Three Pre-amplifier.
3. ???

TURNTABLES
1. Clearaudio Concept.
2. Thorens TD-350 turntable.
3. Clearaudio Maestro cartridge.

PHONO STAGE
1. Thorens TEP-302.
2. ???

SPEAKERS
1. I haven't gotten this far yet

- I want to make sure I get a phono stage that handles both MM and MC, so recommendations on that outside the Thorens would be appreciated.

- The PrimaLunas seems to get rave reviews, and being a guitar guy, I LOVE how they look and that they're tubes.

- I keep reading the CA Maestro is one of the best carts...???

- I listen to to anything from rock, metal, and folk/country. Accuracy and tight bass is one thing I really want.

So what do you guys think? What should I add or scrap? I know this an ambiguous question you guys get all the time, but you guys know best!

Thanks,
Maury
