Hi

I'm in the market for a new mixer and good speakers for my turntables. To date i've been running them on a pair of reasonable computer speakers I had lying around. I've decided it's time to invest in some quality audio equipment to enrich the listening experience.

I'm completely new to audio hardware and speakers and i'm a little dizzy from all the manufacturers I see advertised.

A friend of mine had some blueroom/scandyna minipod speakers that seemed quite good, but this is really the only reference point I have. My budget is ~$3,000 US for speakers and maybe ~$1,000 for the amp (or more if need be). I'm eyeing up an Allen & Heath Xone 42 mixer to replace my aging Gemini dust-magnet as i've heard A&H produce good quality sound.

Whilst i'm confident that a pair of Megapod Speakers will do the job, i'd like to hear what else people recommend as a good quality audio speaker that's within my budget...like I said, i'm a little overwhelmed by all of the choices I see out there.

Thank you

Steve
