Hi all,
I am new to stereophile, but have been listening and reading the magazine for quite some time. I grew up on vinyl and now want to put together an entry level setup for myself. My father gave me his 4000+ record collection and I want to take advantage of the sound. I started with the Pro-Ject Debut III turntable with the OM5. But I am now searching for a decent integrated amp and the three I am debating on are the Marantz PM5004, Yamaha AS500, or the NAD C316BEE. I just don't know which one to go with, but they are all in my price range. While I will primarily listen to vinyl through the amp, I will also want to take advantage of my CD collection as well as my digital audio collection (all my music is ripped at the highest level possible and run through a program called Decibel). Lastly, I have had difficulty locating recommended speakers for this system as well. My budget on speakers is around $500 for the pair. I may push the speakers to $1k per pair, but I do not want to stretch too far, since I am currently a graduate student. But what speakers would be good for this set up? As far as listening, I listen to all types of music, but tend to listen to more rock/indie music, however I also listen to opera and classical from time to time.
Thanks for any suggestions. I really appreciate it since I'm a newbie.
Best,
Jonathan
