Hi all
First of all, thanks for creating this section for newbies
I'm looking for a recommendation for a new budget integrated amplifier to pair with my Paradigm Mini Monitor speakers (I will be upgrading my (low end) sources -- lp, cd, tape, ipod -- incrementally)
Parameters:
- Roughly $500 or so
- Must have a phono section (NAD, Cambridge Audio won't do)
- Does not need to be high power; 30W@8Ohms is probably adequate for me
- Looking for a clean sound; good staging. Stretch goal is to be able to deal with some poor source material.
- Want something that looks and feels like a well-constructed Amp. All I need is volume, source & maybe bass/treble controls. A remote would be nice.
- Used is fine, but preferably less than 10 years old
- Currently evaluating between the Marantz PM7100 & Onkyo A-9555. Haven't auditioned either yet.
- Should be able to handle classical, vocal classical, rock, jazz & world music relatively equally (well)
Any ideas?
Thx
