Hey, all. Planning on making my first foray into what I believe will be considered "mid-fi".

As for speakers, I've settled on either B&W 602's or 603's. Any thoughts, comments, etc. on these are appreciated.

Now on to my question: Rotel or NAD? It seems from my research that these are the two best value lines out there (feel free to make other suggestions) Because my room is small (couch about 6 feet from all components)I'm primarily interested in 2-channelo audio, but will use the system for TV, movies and video games as well.

I'm thinking I need a multi-channel, home theater (e.g. NAD's T 743 or 753) because at some point,I'll want to make the system 5.1 surround. I want some flexibility in that I don't want to buy another receive in 2-3 years.

NAD's stuff seems very, very well-reviewed by the critics and the prices are right (around $1K for near top of the line). Rotel's A/V receiver is $1300.00 list. Why so much more expensive?
Also, as far as I can tell, NAD lacks HDMI inputs/outputs. How crucial is this?

I'm just looking for any and all guidance, suggestions, etc.

Thanks so much for your time.

Chris
