Alooooo-ha.

Time for a little bit of War's "Summertime" to set the mood. If we were students here in Cali, tomorrow would be the last day of school. Even as an adult, I still get a little excited about that day, only now I don't get the payoff.

Anyway, we have so many posts, especially from new arrivals, talking about the "final destination, "the highest of Fi, it made me wonder if we sometimes overlook one of (what I think is) the greatest joys of Hi Fi - finding a flawed product and appreciating what it does well, and how much we are willing to forgive on the down side.

Example: The Quad ESL. A speaker of limited macrodynamics, total dynamic capabilities, bass impact, a limited sweet spot...but still completely lovable based on its positive attributes.

Maybe for the newbies, and surely to entertain fellow veterans, are there Hi Fi products that you consider to be Hi Fi, and loved, but had GLARING shortcomings that you were somehow able to overlook?

(Like the crazy chick/guy who was fatally flawed, but somehow continued to captivate you?)

I'll start it off with...

I don't wanna steal any from anybody!
