Here the specifics of the issue I am having with Oppo 105D. Would like to know if others have experienced the same issue. I am working with Oppo CS as well and they are trying to replicate it.
Issue: Gapless playback of Flac and Ape files over SMB does not work for me. There is always a 1-2 second break between tracks. Interestingly enough the same files play gaplessly from a USB drive attached to 105D. Here is what I have tried on my end:
A) Using Media Control App ver 4.0.2 on Android 4.x and 5.x
B) Player is 105D with the latest firmware BDP10X-80-1031
C) Album used was Pink Floyd, wish you were here (but I have tried other ones too).
D) Used Jriver Media Center latest version (21.0.5) and also dbpoweramp to rip the CD
E) Ripped CD to FLAC and APE files
F) Tried SMB share using 2 methods: (1) Drive share on Windows 10 Professional with full permissions for everyone and (2) a usb disk connected to an Asus AC3200 Wifi AC router
G) 105D is connected to the network using an Ethernet cable directly from Asus router. I also tried using Netgear WNCE2001 universal adapter and the OPPO USB wireless adapter.
H) From media control center, clicked long on first track and picked Gapless Play
With all the combinations of the above the result was the same, there was a silent gap between tracks of about 1-2 seconds. Is anyone else having this issue? Or is this only me doing something silly?
BTW, I also noticed that gapless play arrows (->->) from USB play do not appear when I play files from SMB. I see the the parallel arrows, indicating sequential play.
If you are experiencing the same issue, please share here and also inform Oppo. After speaking with their customer service, I really do that think they are interested in solving issues.
