I am shopping around for a versatile system to run my laptop, cd collection (on my oppo), and records (on my rega p1). I am on a tight budget looking to spend under 1500. I was looking at the Nuforce Icon and maybe pairing it up with some paradigm atoms v.5s but want to be able to run my Rega p1 turntable.
The Decco looks pretty good but haven't seen many reviews of it and wouldn't be sure what speakers to pair it with. It is sharp looking and I like that it is a dac/tube pre amp/ solid state intergrated amp/ headphone amp. Does anyone have any thought on the Decco? What would be good speakers to pair it with? Would it also be useful to use as a preamp when I upgrade to a better system?
Is it audiophile quality (albeit on a budget)? Is it just a good looking piece or does it back it up? I want to use it as basically a starter system that I can intergate into a system I build up later (looking at the cayin a50-t that my buddy has paired with Def Tech Mythos... which sounds spectacular). Big question is what speakers would be good to pair with this amp? I have read it is geared towards bookshelf speakers, would the atoms be a good match? If I'm way off here I would like any advice for a true newbe that wants to get into the game.

edit to clarify: I should stress that I am looking to build a budget system and don't expect to be knocked out for my budget. Still for $1500 between speakers and an amp I don't think the setup will be a dud.
