Hello,
I have a phono pre-amp (Audiovalve Sunilda) that allows me to switch between MM and MC as well as different resistor and capacitor settings. I would like to experiment with these values for my current cartridge, the high output MC cartridge, the Dynavector 20XH. I have a Rega P5 TT.
Best as I can tell, the MM setting is not affected very much (or at all) by the different resistor or capacitor values (I have it set it on 47K resistor). The MC setting is much louder for obvious reasons, and I am thinking will vary with different resistor or capacitor values.
I was hoping someone can give me a primer (or point me to a useful link) on what to look for as I step through the different resistor and capacitor values. What do I listen for as I change resistor and capacitor loadings? What changes can I expect? Or do I expect very little change with a high output MC cartridge because it is treated like a MM?
The resistor settings are: 47R, 100R, 220R, 470R, 1K and 47K.
The capacitor settings are: 0p, 100p, 220p, 470p, 1n and 0p (not sure why there are two 0ps).
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
