High Note records has quietly been issuing some great music and signing some really good artist. This CD/DVD was recorded live and it is one of Mr Alexanders best work. The first thing you'll notice is that the recording is excellent and balanced almost like it was recorded in a studio. There is absolutely no background audience noise. The performance also deserves raves; Mr Alexander plays with intensity yet he seems to know when he is getting too far out on a limb and restrains himself from free form playing resulting in a jazz session that is a pleasure to listen to. The bonus of the this set is the included DVD of the concert. Highly recommended
