I have both PS3 and the Apple TV. Both have HDMI and a separate Toslink audio output.
That is great, because my audio receiver is bit older and does not have HDMI capability. The HDTV has 1 HDMI input, so it can handle both video and audio.
I have everything connected thru a HDMI switch because my TV is limited to 1 HDMI source.
I run my Toslink thru this HDMI switch because it it synched with the HDMI port selection.
Everything works great. But I have a quesiton on the PS3.
The PS3,in the Audio Setup, allows me to select either the HDMI audio or Toslink. When i select the TOSLINK option, the audio is no long at the output of the HDMI port. Apple TV always has audio on both the HDMI and Toslink which is much better for me.
ANy ideas on how to set the PS3 to have audio on both HDMI and Toslink?
