Hopefully this does not sound like a "rant", because I'm not pissed off, but I really did not know where else to post this question.
I was on the Acoustic Sounds website this morning and saw this:
http://store.acousticsounds.com/browse_detail.cfm?Title_ID=31990§ion=equipment
For those of you did not click on the link, it is the Manley Labs "Wave" (a preamp/DAC combo unit) being endorsed as "Stereophile Class A" component on the Acoustic Sounds website. Did I miss something? When did you guys review the Wave? In searching the Master Index of everything ever reviewed on the Stereophile website, in both the DAC and preamp section, I never found the Manley Labs "Wave" listed. So I am assuming it was never reviewed. Furthermore, just to make sure that I was not being an idiot and jumping the gun, I checked the most recent issue of Stereophile with the recommended components listed, and sure enough, the Wave was not on there either. So in a nutshell, what gives?
BTW, I have nothing but respect for Acoustic Sounds, Stereophile, and Manley Labs. It just caught me off guard when looking at the unit on their webpage and seeing that little classification. For the last few weeks I have been searching for more info on the Wave, and news on the web (and magazines) seems to be pretty thin. So when I saw that classification, it really caught me off guard.
