New here, out of interest and desperation.
There are so many good reviews, ..which make shortlisting new speaker and Pre-Dac amp really difficult.
So, first things first.
DAC pre..my choices are down to NAD M51 or Emotiva XMC-1.(for it's stereo decoding).
(Both have HDMI inputs..both are well reviewed.)
Current DAC (6 months) Essence HDACC.
Speakers:
ML Theos , Pro-AC C6, ...maybe even push for the Legacy Aeris.
(Wilson Benesch ACT 1 and Kef Blade 2 ..are too expensive unfortunately)
Currently running Sonor Audio Claro 6.2 and Velodyne sub (older ..somewhere in the middle of their range)
My inputs are Satellite Television Box, PC and Marantz UDP 7007. (Considering the Cambridge Audio CXU or Oppo 105..as they also have HDMI inputs and I have a substantial BD and DVD collection.
My amp is a 250w integrated hybrid from Valve Audio (pre stage is valve, output stage is Mosfet), has compared favourably against Krell S 300i at much the same price. Sounds balanced beautiful with incredibly low noise floor.
My living area is very very large. (40 by 18).
Musical taste, Female Vocal, DireStraits, Enya .. some instrumental, sometimes a bit of 80's rock, ..basically not Synth or Metal.
So of those speakers and 'DACs', what would be the suggestions.?
