Are there any comments or recommendations to replace my current Energy Veritas 1.0 bookshelf speakers? My budget is about $1000
So far, I've checked out the Mag .7, Monitor Audio Bronze, Elacs bookshelves, and the Monitor Silver 6 floor standers. My room is small (9 x 14) and is actually an office/man cave.
At first I thought floor standers would be to large, but the Monitor 6's sounded amazing, and the size was not prohibitive given the quality.
I want good imaging, strong bass and low frequency response, and ability to provide quality sound at lower volume levels (to maintain marital harmony).
I'd prefer avoiding the purchase of a separate subwoofer, unless someone can suggest just adding a sub to enhance my current speakers.
I'm using a Rogue Sphinx, Peachtree DAC, NAD phono pre-amp, Cambridge CD player, and Project Experience table with a Blue Point MM cartridge.
Advice would be most welcome regarding my options and potential candidates.
