Hey all,
I just recently purchased a pair of B&W 805 D3 standmount speakers for my bedroom setup.
I am looking for a stereo integrated amp that has built-in DAC (DLNA compatible) for my B&W 805 D3. I don't want to get separates as this is for my bedroom setup. I prefer an integrated amp that has digital inputs (PC USB DAC input).
The dealer where I purchased the B&W 805 D3 from recommended me the Classe Sigma 2200i stereo integrated ($5500) but they currently don't have one on display for demo and I have no way to demo it. But they can get one for me if I want to purchase it. However I do own the Classe Delta CP 800 stereo preamp/DAC and a pair of Classe Delta CAM-600 monoblock power amps paired with the B&W 800 D3 floorstanding speakers in my main primary setup but I've never heard the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated before. I am aware that the Sigma series is Classe's entry level series and are priced much lower than the Delta series gears like the ones I have in my main primary setup but I'm sure that there's a compromise in sound quality and performance with the Sigma series products eg Sigma 2200i integrated in comparison with the Delta series separates like the ones I have in my main setup.
My Classe Delta CAM-600 monoblock amps did retail for $14k/pair and the CP 800 preamp/DAC was $6k.
I'm aware that the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated uses class D amplifier design and my Classe CAM-600 monoblock amps are class AB. How does the Classe Sigma class D amp perform and sound? I've never owned any class D amps before.
But my dealer does have the Rotel RA-1592 stereo integrated ($2500) on display for demo. We used this Rotel RA-1592 when demoing the B&W 805 D3 at the shop there. They sounded very good together and the Rotel RA-1592 is quite a bit cheaper than the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated. But I am willing to pay for the price of the Classe Sigma 2200i but wondering how much better the Classe Sigma 2200i will be sonically over the Rotel RA-1592? I was told that the RA-1592 is Rotel's flagship integrated amp. And the Rotel RA-1592 uses class AB amp design.
Please advise. Which one will be a better match for my new B&W 805 D3 standmount speakers? The Rotel RA-1592 or the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated? I cannot demo the Classe Sigma 2200i.
On the side note, my main primary stereo listening room consists of the following :
- B&W 800 D3 floorstanders.
- Classe Delta CAM-600 monoblock amps.
- Classe CP 800 stereo preamp/DAC used as both analog preamp and streamed download digital files via rear PC USB DAC input.
- Esoteric K-03X SACD/CD player, which is connected using XLR analog interconnects to the CP 800 preamp
- Audioquest Niagara 7000 low noise AC power dissipation product.
- Shunyata Research Sigma speaker cables, XLR analog interconnects and power cables.
- Transparent Premium USB cable.
- Audioquest Diamond Ethernet cable.
I've had this main primary setup for about a year now and am very pleased with the overall performance, and that's the reason I went with the B&W 805 D3 standmount speakers for my bedroom setup cuz I love the sound and performance of my B&W 800 D3 floorstanders especially when paired with the Classe Delta CAM-600 monoblock amps and Classe CP 800 stereo preamp/DAC.
Please give me some advise and inputs regarding the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated vs the Rotel RA-1592 integrated for my new B&W 805 D3 standmount speakers that I recently bought for my bedroom setup.
Thanks in advance.
